Bucket elevator chain swing is one of the common problems among users. However, if the user does not pay enough attention, long-term use will also cause other parts to malfunction, such as chain skipping or chain breakage, so the maintenance of the equipment cannot be careless.
A plate-chain bucket elevator is suitable for lifting powdery, granular, and small lump materials. The equipment uses inflow feeding and induced discharge, with high-capacity buckets arranged closely together. Its conveying chains are high-strength, wear-resistant plate chains. Compared with bucket elevators of the same type and similar structural dimensions, it offers less material fallback, greater lifting capacity, and longer chain service life. After installation, the bucket elevator must first undergo a no-load trial run, during which no abnormalities should be observed. During subsequent loaded commissioning and production, as the quantity of material lifted increases, if chain tooth skipping at the tail wheel and casing shaking develop after a period of use, observations can be made through the inspection door:
1. The amplitude of the swing of the elevator hopper in the housing;
2. Whether the head wheel is worn;
3. Is the head wheel deflected?
Due to long-term operation, the chain, head wheel, tail wheel gear, etc. may experience a certain degree of wear. In addition, the shaft pins on the links on the elevator chain will also experience a certain degree of wear, resulting in a certain degree of loosening of the chain. During the operation of the elevator, the chain will shake. After the chain shakes and runs to the head wheel (tail wheel), the chain and gears will not mesh properly, and it is easy to make a rattling noise.
Treatment method: Adjust the tensioning bolt to tighten the chain.
Since the bucket elevator inevitably spills materials during the unloading process, the material falls on the head wheel or tail wheel, causing the head wheel and tail wheel to be covered with material. During the lifting process, gear slippage may even occur, aggravating gear wear. The tail gear teeth were worn to varying degrees, and individual plates of the chain were also worn with many dents.
Solution: Check the damage of the head wheel and tail wheel, clean the materials attached to the head wheel and tail wheel in time, and replace the broken teeth in time to avoid affecting the operation of the equipment.
The problem during the design and production process is that the head wheel and the tail wheel are not on the same center line, causing the chain to deviate during operation. One side of the chain is seriously worn, and the chain is easily damaged and broken after long-term use.
Treatment method: Adjust the position of the bucket elevator's head wheel and tail wheel, find the center line, and then retry the operation.
Bucket elevator chain swings or tooth skipping are problems that require users to pay attention to during use. Timely maintenance and adjustment of the equipment can avoid equipment failure.
