When the motor runs at high speed, the bearings not only have to run at high speed, but also have to continue to withstand the effects of rotor load and frictional heat. If the bearing condition is abnormal, it is not conducive to the temperature rise and vibration control of the high-speed motor rotor. In serious cases, it will damage the motor. At this time, the motor bearing must be replaced. So how often should the high-speed motor bearing be replaced?
How often should high-speed motor bearings be replaced?
There is no unified regulation on the replacement frequency of high-speed motor bearings. It is okay for motor bearings from normal manufacturers to use 1-3 years, but it depends on the working conditions. The same bearing is used in a motor that operates 24 hours uninterrupted and in a motor that operates 10 hours a day. The greater the working intensity of the bearing material, the earlier fatigue spalling occurs, and the higher the frequency of replacement.
What are the signals for high-speed motor bearing replacement?
1, the operating noise increases significantly. The running sound of high-speed motor bearings is continuous and smooth. If there is obvious buzzing, irregular collision sound or periodic abnormal noise, it is necessary to check whether the bearing has raceway damage, abnormal lubrication or cage problems.
2, the bearing temperature rise increases significantly. Under the same speed and load conditions, if the bearing temperature rises significantly, it is necessary to check whether there are abnormal grease, bearing wear, excessive preload, etc.
3, motor vibration increases. Peeling of bearing raceways, wear of rolling elements, or changes in internal clearance may cause increased vibration of high-speed motors. The higher the speed, the more sensitive the equipment is to vibration. Abnormal vibration curves can often be detected in the early stages of failure.
4, the rotor rotation is unstable. If the high-speed motor experiences speed fluctuations, unstable operation or abnormal rotation resistance, the bearing status should also be checked. If you find that the rotor rotation is obviously stuck or rough, the bearing may be broken.
After disassembly and inspection of the high-speed motor, if it is found that the bearing has raceway peeling, surface burns, obvious discoloration, rolling element damage, cage deformation, and severe wear, it is not recommended to continue using it and replace it with a new bearing immediately.
The replacement of high-speed motor bearings cannot simply depend on time, but also on the working condition of the bearings. Some bearings can continue to be used even after their theoretical service life has been reached if they are properly maintained. If you want your bearings to last a long time, installation and maintenance are very important. In addition, you must find a reliable bearing manufacturer. The quality of the bearings is guaranteed and they will be more durable.
